Eltel designs, builds, maintains and enhances networks for the telecommunications and electricity sectors. It ensures uninterrupted signal and electrical supply to its clients.

The business, based in Espoo, Finland, operates across the Nordic region, Baltic states, Poland and Germany, serving clients such as TeliaSonera, Telenor, Vattenfall and Fortum.

The business is managed as two business segments: field services and large projects.

It is currently the second largest operator in the Nordic markets, with more than 9,250 employees.

Eltel has experienced rapid organic, acquisitive and outsourcing-led growth in recent years. The company is in an excellent position to continue to grow in existing as well as new markets. Expansion in Central and Eastern Europe is of particular interest.

The historic focus on growth has also created a substantial opportunity for operational improvements. A core element of Eltel’s strategy is therefore to drive performance by streamlining organisational structures and processes and fully integrating past acquisitions.

Eltel has completed five acquisitions since 3i made its investment in 2007.
